Why watch this film?
Federer: Twelve Final Days is exactly what the title suggests: a documentary that follows the last 12 days of Roger Federer's career, one of the greatest tennis players in the history of the sport. In addition to interviews with the Swiss player, the feature film also incorporates elements of observational documentary, placing the viewer at the heart of the action with behind-the-scenes footage from Federer's final days in the sport.

Senna
With images from the time, interviews, and never-before-seen scenes from the family archive, the documentary reconstructs the career of one of Brazil's and the world's greatest sportsmen, Ayrton Senna da Silva. For fans of those times who want to reminisce or for younger ones who seek to learn more about the sportsman, it's a good material. However, the documentary has its problems—such as not probing certain wounds and conflicts from Senna's life, or being attractive for those who don't care about motorsports and who, in the end, just want a good story.

Amy
Directed by Asif Kapadia ('Senna'), the documentary 'Amy' is a posthumous and highly personal portrait of Amy Winehouse, going beyond her meteoric rise, fame and, yes, her substance abuse problems that led to her tragic death in 2011, at 27. This movie, worthy of the BAFTA and Oscar for Best Documentary in 2016, compiles unseen archive footage of the British artist, before and after her commercial success, through which she manages to offer an honest and balanced view of the delicate balance between being an artist and a celebrity, without falling into sensationalism. A balanced tribute to women and their music, essential for her fans and for those who want to watch the construction of a powerful documentary all built on archive.

I Am: Celine Dion
I Am: Celine Dion is a raw and real documentary, without filters, about the day-to-day life of the singer after whom the documentary is named. Perhaps cruel is also an adjective that fits the Prime Video exclusive film. After all, over its 100 minutes, the film talks not only about Dion's career (with some archive footage, others that completely deviate from the proposal), but mainly about the condition that affects her, Stiff Person Syndrome. We feel Celine's pain of not being able to sing, her daily limitations, and at the very end of the film, the most shocking part: a scene of the singer having one of her crises. It's very intense. Some say the documentary goes too far by showing this on screen. I, on the other hand, believe it humanizes her even more and helps everyone understand the complex life of the Canadian—who is just like anyone else.

Made in England: The Films of Powell and Pressburger
Michael Powell and Emerich Pressburger might be, in very simple terms, the most influential and innovative filmmakers from England—and the world—whose work is least discussed today: it's quite likely you've only just heard of them. Made in England: The Films of Powell and Pressburger is the perfect introduction to the work and legacy of the duo, collectively known as "The Archers," with the best possible guide: Martin Scorsese, one of their great advocates (and eventual personal friend of Michael Powell) and one of the filmmakers most inspired by their vision. As presenter, narrator, and producer, Scorsese provides a comprehensive tour of the filmmakers' trajectory, avoiding idealization but analyzing the impact and influence of the artists behind iconic and unique English films such as A Matter of Life and Death, Black Narcissus, and The Red Shoes, misunderstood in their time but re-evaluated by later critics and filmmakers. Perhaps the only fault of the documentary is that it doesn't reach the inspired heights of its subjects. But that would be asking too much, as it achieves its valuable purpose: to inspire us to revisit the films of two true legends.

The Echo
In the remote village of El Echo that exists outside of time, the children care for the sheep and their elders. While the frost and drought punish the land, they learn to understand death, illness and love with each act, word and silence of their parents. A story about the echo of what clings to the soul, about the certainty of shelter provided by those around us, about rebellion and vertigo in the face of life. About growing up.

Outstanding: A Comedy Revolution
What role has comedy played in the LGBTQIA+ movement, and what role have LGBTQIA+ comedians had in stand-up comedy? These are some of the questions answered by the documentary Outstanding: A Comedy Revolution. Featuring testimonies from artists like Lily Tomlin, Trixie Mattel, Tig Notaro, Wanda Sykes, Billy Eichner, Rosie O'Donnell, and many others, this film spans a century of comedy history, revealing not only the changing times but also the power of humor to impact popular culture and, over time, provoke changes in social consciousness. The documentary gets a bit lost in the "talking heads" format, but even so, it has much to teach even the most knowledgeable on the subject.
