Plot summary
Over twenty-five years, in a huge nightclub, a man and woman wait for a mysterious event to take place. While they hold out in silence, everything around them is loud and in motion. From 1979 to 2004, from disco to techno, years pass as the duo wait and watch the world from the sidelines.

An Austrian documentary about young people moving to Vienna to make money by selling their bodies in Europe - an extremely hard and complicated reality. 'Brothers of the Night' also serves as a story of immigrants having their dreams frustrated in searching for better living conditions, in addition to a rarely explored vision within the theme of prostitution. The only downside is that the documentary could have gone beyond the male and heterosexual environment, addressing other sides of this complex prism.

Patric Chiha follows the entire preparation process of a group of dancers rehearsing for a show. The documentary is very intimate but without invading the privacy of the characters, extremely interesting. Without the need for sex scenes, 'Si c'était de l'amour' manages to portray desire and seduction in a very unique way. This documentary can easily be compared to a more realistic version of Gaspar Noé's 'Clímax'.

Como el mar is an Argentine film where a young woman, Azul (Zoe Hochbaum), discovers that her supposed older sister (Sofía Gala Castiglione) is actually her biological mother, and the mother who has just died was really her grandmother. Seeking answers about her father, they embark on a journey to Uruguay, where they must transform their bond. This road movie moves at a slow, contemplative pace, focusing more on exploring feelings than events, which may seem too simplistic for those looking for complex dramas. However, it's an emotional film, and the performance of the legendary Carmen Maura (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) is definitely worth watching.
My First Film
Many filmmakers spend their lives trying to sustain their creative careers, unaware of their missteps. In My First Film, the debut feature of director Zia Anger (who has created videos for artists like Mitski and Beach House), we see the opposite: a filmmaker who looks back and reconstructs what went wrong in her disastrous first attempt when she was younger. Past and present blend with reality and fiction (featuring artists like Odessa Young), in a film that recreates not just events but emotions. There are many meta and revisionist films, but My First Film is the most fascinating since 2018's Shirkers, at the very least.

What begins as an innocent conversation gradually turns into experimentation with other partners and increasingly pushing the limits of just how far they can go with a non-monogamous relationship before it gets out of hand.
