That's the story told in The Pez Outlaw, a curious and exclusive Netflix documentary awarded at SXSW. It's an incredibly strange story set in the 90s: PEZ, internationally, operated separately from its US branch, resulting in designs released in Eastern Europe that were not available on the American continent. So, one Steve Glew dedicated himself to smuggling exclusive European models to the United States, enriching himself in the process to get his family out of debt... until the PEZ executives noticed. It's a David vs. Goliath story as strange as it is captivating and emotional, which won't change your life, but will certainly keep you entertained.
