"14 jours, 12 nuits" follows the mourning journey of a woman who has lost her adopted daughter and decides to go back to the place where the girl was born, in order to connect with her culture. It is a slow-paced production that requires some patience for the plot to unfold. The first half presents small details of what happened and in the second part everything fits together. If you like slower stories with a high dramatic load, you will like this movie. And if you want to watch a beautiful film, you will also be enchanted by the beautiful landscapes of Vietnam and Quebec.

Plot summary
Isabelle Brodeur embarks on a journey to Vietnam, her adopted daughter's birthplace. Her path leads her to the woman who was once her daughter's nanny. Doing so, Isabelle learns the existence and whereabouts of her daughter's biological mother. Throughout this stunningly beautiful journey, Isabelle discovers her daughter's country through the eyes of the woman who brought her into this world. This pilgrimage of sorts, leads the two women to unveil their innermost secrets.

There are many meta and revisionist films, but My First Film is the most fascinating since 2018's Shirkers, at the very least.
